The name of the man who built the Qutub Minar was Bakhtiyar Kaki, who was a Sufi saint. It is said that the map of the tower was made before Turkey came to India. But the most strange thing is that till now no documents have been found in the history of India about Qutub Minar. It is said that this tower was built after taking inspiration from the Rajput tower.

On the Qutub Minar, some passages about its history are seen in Parsi-Arabic and Nagari languages. But all the information about the history of Qutub Minar has been obtained from Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351–89) and Sikander Lodi (1489–1517).

When the upper part of Qutub Minar was broken due to lightning in 1368 AD, but later it was rebuilt by Firoz Shah. With it rebuilt, Feroz Shah built two more floors with white marble. But after this, a major earthquake in 1505 caused heavy damage to Qutub Minar and whatever damage was done in the earthquake was repaired by Sikander Lodi.

But this process did not stop even after this, on 1 August 1903, a major earthquake occurred and once again Qutub Minar suffered major damage. But in the year 1928, Major Robert Smith of the British Indian Army got it repaired, he also built a dome over the Qutub Minar, but the dome was later removed by the General of the Government of Pakistan, Lord Hardinge. And it was established to the east of Qutub Minar.

Qutub Minar is made of red stone and marble. The height of the Qutub Minar is 72.5 meters and its diameter is 14.32 meters. There are a total of 379 staircases inside the tower, which is built in a circular way.

After this, Feroz Shah Tughlaq once again started the construction of Qutub Minar and he got 2 new storeys built every year. They built these floors with marble and red stone. The construction of Qutub Minar was started by Aibak and completed by Iltutmish and in 1369 the tower was repaired by Ferozeshah Tughlaq after it was broken by accident.
